Hank the Service Dog
Hank is a purebred German Shepherd who was born on April 10, 2022. He started his training journey when he was 3 months old at dog training Elite of Des Moines (DTE), where he began learning basic obedience skills.
In August of 2023, he joined the Ballard Middle School team when he was just 1 years old and has basically grown up in the school environment ever since. He has two jobs. He is a service dog and a therapy dog.
Even though Hank is a hardworking dog who takes his job seriously, he absolutely loves being at school with students and staff. He's always ready to offer a tail wag, a snuggle, or just a calming presence.
Some fun facts about Hank:
- Hank is a fetch pro — any kind of ball, he has it covered!
- He enjoys watching his brother, Kade, play baseball.
- He loves car rides.
- He absolutely loves getting in the water at the lake!
- He loves boat rides.
- He loves walks and hiking.
- He uses his pillow like a pacifier when it is bedtime.
- Most of all, he loves hanging out at school with people!
